Pillows, Pillows, Pillows!!!

Cleaning pillows can be tricky. I've learned an easy way to get them pillows clean. Let's face it, we sleep on our pillows everyday and they can get rather dirty. No worries, I am here to share my trick to get those bad boys clean!

What you will need:

1. Pillows that can have the cover come off.  I purchased mine at Macy's, the zipper makes it very easy to clean your pillow when ever you want!
2. Zote White Soap. Walmart carries them! It's a little white bar.
3. Bucket
4. Hot water

Take pillow cover off pillow, make sure not wash the entire pillow. Cut a "slice" off the Zote soap, about an inch for two pillow cases (if you are washing 4 then cut the double amount). Place hot water or boiling water in the bucket with the Zote soap. Place pillow cases in the bucket and let sit for about 35 minutes. You want to let most of the soap dissolve. Then grab the remaining Zote and rub it on any dirty spots and rub the pillow together. You will get most of the yellow stains off your pillow at this point. I rub the entire pillow case with the Zote soap then rub it together to give them a thorough clean. Let sit again for about another 10 minutes. You can rinse them off and let dry or pop it in the washer with a load of white clothes. I like to let it run through the washer with a load of clothes. I do not rinse it off before adding it to the washer, take it directly from the bucket to washer. Your pillows will be white and look brand new! I forgot to take a before picture, but lets face it, we all know how pillows can look when dirty.

Also,  you can make Zote detergent for full loads of wash. Add hot water in a bucket place the whole Zote soap in the bucket and let sit over night. I let it sit for about two days. The Zote will be completely dissolved and make a jelly like liquid. Add to your discretion to a load of wash. You can add normal detergent with the Zote, but that might be too much. When I make Zote detergent, I only use it on white clothes. This works better than Clorox because you will not get yellow stains on white shirts due to certain deodorants.  Hope this helped!!!
